Multiclass as a Ranger

I remember that this was brought up in the past but I'll be damned if I can find it.

If you multiclass as a Ranger, you get the Hunters Quarry class feature, how exactly does it work? Do you get the Hunters Quarry bonus damage each round on one enemy until it is dead or do you just get the bonus damage on one attack once per encounter.

I'm thinking it is the latter because if you multiclass into a rogue you can only sneak attack once per encounter.

Thanks for the help.

Until the start of your next round. It's in the errata.

“The target you designate as your quarry remains your quarry until the
end of your next turn.”

I'm not sure that answers my question.

That clears up how Hunters Quarry works. But when you combine that with Warrior of the Wild (Ranger Multiclass feat), it says you can use Hunters Quarry once per encounter.

So does that mean, you get bonus damage from Hunters Quarry once per encounter or once per round per encounter (and I am assuming it both cases only on one enemy total in the encounter).
