Multiclass Combos

I'm planning my 1st character to be a Human Rogue multiclassed into Warlock. I just wonder if the human's bonus at-will power can be picked from the Warlock's list coz of the Multiclass feat gives access to the other class, right?

Dragonborn Warlord/Paladin
"Get in their and fight you coward! You call that a wound.....there... now take your booboo back into battle you scaleless coward!"

From what we've seen so far (limited though it may be) I'm putting money that the Rogue/Warlock will be a powerful combination. It can guarantee sneak attack in a round by using Eyebite, sinking an action point and then going in for some big damage attack against the target (who cannot see you) such as Torturous Strike. Combine in Half-Elf and the additional At-Will as an Encounter, and you've got a pretty full plate of options in front of you.

I was thinking that it would be quite easy to build a Beguiler with PHB2. I'd just need to do the following:
1) Choose whether Psion (enchanter/Psychic Controller) or Illusionist (Shadow Controller) would be my base class.
2) Multiclass feat into the "other class)
3) Light Armor Feat
4) Skill Feat - Thievery
5) Skill Feat - Stealth

I'm playing a Beguiler right now and I don't have nearly enough skill points to be both a Rogue and "Face Man."

I second the Rogue with Hunter's Quarry. I'd give him kind of a 'ronin duelist' personality, and I'd cross out Hunter's Quarry and replace it with 'Go Old School', as in, "Huh, looks like this one's not as frail as the others; I'm gonna have to Go Old School on him."
That's a good way to get lots of damage.

I think that there are many viable multiclassing combo options. I've been playing with some ideas based on the "Previews"

Warlock--->Wizard
* Since Warlocks at higher level can curse two targets, it boosts the damage done by the Wizard spells, such as Bigby's Forceful Hands. You can have the hands grab both of the cursed targets, adding Curse damage.

Rogue/Ranger
* Either way it's going to be good. Rogues can use Rapiers which are 1D8 damage weapons. Using them with TWF as a Ranger can really boost damage. I'm thinking a Rogue that uses rapid TW attacks (burst 1) can do serious damage to one target, while softening up the others. If one lives and suffers a crit, Action Point and stab it for SA damage to finish it.
* The TWF bursts would also help Rogues deal with "Minion Swarms" by taking them out instead of shifting away.

Lots of good stuff from previews.

Multi classing using the feats for it doesn't quite interest me for my current character, concept I instead hope to use the ritual caster feat

A Dragonbourne fighter, who's town had been raised to the ground with himself being the only survivor. Griz has put this down to either plain luck or the gods (but he's not sure which), he now trades himself as a sellsword, albeit one who believes in fate, destiny and superstision he'll happily wade into battle claiming any religious or lucky relics that may be found to enhance his survivability. Due to his indulgent interest into all religions and all things superstitious he has picked up a smattering of rituals he can use when supplicating the vast array of gods he makes prayers to.

"Pelor may your light shine true" lighting a lamp
"Moradin give me strength" tide of iron
"Cyric don't take me yet!" healing surge
"Obad-Hai bring forth one of your servants I am in need of your service" (animal message)

Well maybe I just indulged a little in my character concept but the point I want to make is you can multiclass with just the ritual caster feat by the looks of it which will be pretty interesting.

I'm trying to figure out a way to convert my buddy's 2nd Ed Drow Fighter/Mage/Thief (LE assassin type).

Any ideas?
Fighters in previous editions did absolutely nothing special. The swung their sword the same way from 1st to [add improbably high level here], so that can be dropped. Most people would take Fighter for the ThAC0 and bonus hitpoints. The HP you can make up by taking the Toughness Feat and having a small bonus in your CON score for additional surges.

I'd say your friend needs to choose whether or not you want to be a better Rogue or better Wizard and go with that as your class. Then Multiclass feat for the other one. At some point you'll have to "meet in the middle." What I mean is as a Wizard you'll probably want to use armor because of the SA. Therefore, you'll want to have a Lgt Armor Feat. As a Rogue you'll want to keep a blade in your hands at all times. It's been hinted that there's an option to make a sword an implement, that would be optimal for a Rogue/Wizard.

Assassin was a class in 1e, dropped in 2e, a Prestige in 3e, and now it's a Paragon (PrC equiv.) in 4e. If you want to go Assassin you need the Rogue Class, that's it. And Assassins don't have to be evil anymore. No one is going to judge you for killing Hitler in 4e ;)

In 2e any Multiclass Wizard couldn't wear armor (in 3e there were exceptions but most didn't work very well). Now you just need to take a feat and voila!
