Multiple magical effects that increase size do not stack...

What constitutes a magical effect that increases size? Do polymorph type spells fall into this category?

I have a cleric with the animal domain, that recently acquired Shapechange as a domain spell. Would Shapechange stack with Righteous Might?

Persistent Divine Favor and Divine Power with Righteous Might was already getting out of hand. Putting Shapechange on top of that makes a melee combat machine.

There is still a lot o disagreement on whether shape changing spells that incidentally increase size count as size changing spells. No definite answer has been given by WotC (as far as I know.) This is just one of thousands of rules issues that WotC has decided are not worth answering. Their new policy of 'just the minimum errata' is really ticking me off.

I play in a few different games (most play less than once per month). I have a heck of a time keeping all the rules in mind. Each DM has made different rulings on the vague core rules. We spend far too much time trying to figure out the rules on how something should be done. It is so frustrating ...

As for general concensus: This issue has been split down the middle on most threads. Half the DMs/players think they should not stack, half the DMs think they should.

If you want to pull back the power of shapechange/polymorph, I'd suggest not allowing it to stack with spells that increase size. If you don't consider there to be balance issues with shapechange/polymorph, I'd then just go with my gut feeling on what should happen.

KaeYoss, the link you provided is pretty useless, since it leads to a 26 page thread. Could you perhaps give the page number, the time/date stamp of the relevant post, or the actual quote next time you reference those boards?

Thanks Dwarmaj. The WotC boards load way too slowly on my connection to make searching them manually a viable proposition.
