My 4E Wishlist

PHB4: Shadow, Arcane, and Martial Heroes. Assuming PHB3 has four psionic classes, that should be enough. I love psionics, but I like it on the rare/special side. Martial is my favorite source, so I doubt I'll ever have enough martial classes and abilities. I'd like to see a couple other "old-school" wizard schools with more presence in 4e.

And, I've always loved Shadow magic. I couldn't give a rats behind about all the Primal stuff (it's well done, it's just not my thing). I'm actually a bit miffed that Shadow wasn't in the PHB2 or Psionics in PHB2 and Shadow in PHB3. I'm already a guaranteed sale on Shadow Power 1 and 2, unless WotC totally botches it. Hopefully, they'll tap Mouseferatu to help with Shadow in 4e.

Well, since we're back into it, here's my wishlist:

  • Eberron Campaign Guide;
  • Divine Power; and,
  • Revenge of the Giants.

This is as far as I got before I ran out of money! (...Credit.)

I got to this thread from google.
Well, that explains it... But why not just come directly to ENWorld?

The Abyss features prominently in the next Planar book

Nice try but that would be a little too obvious my friend.

Huh. Seems like RefinedBean was 100% correct, in these cases.

His guesses were all correct, but he missed one of the clues The Rouse left for him:

Each line, Scott gives both the first few letters of the answer, and the last few letters. In line #4, he missed out on the hint that title of the book featuring the Abyss would end with the word, "Below". (As in, "Plane Below".)

What a dummy that RefinedBean is! The correct answer is so obvious with my 20/20 hindsight! ;)

I would really like to see an analysis of applying Conditions on the fly to actions the rules don't cover, like Page 42's famous way of applying damage the same way.
I agree.

However, I don't think this wish will come true in the short term.

After all, this is akin to teaching us to fish instead of selling us fish. And WotC plans to sell us a boatload of fish first.

Personally I'd rather see new power sources. I'd also like to see two per book in the future. None of this you don't get all of a single power source in one book nonsense.

Actually, if you don't subscribe to the wishlist method of treasure distribution, more power sources are a pain in the rear.

Or rather, not power sources per se, but what it implies: new classes with brand new mechanisms.

Already it's darned hard to supply what my only Primal character (a Shaman) needs without caving in and populating my adventures with totems specifically.

To support more uniqueness in classes (I mean, a new Fighterish Shadow class that simply uses normal weapons like every other weapon user is fine, of course) WotC really needs to supply us with a way of handing out genericized treasure.

Things like a "enhancement glyph +5" perhaps, that can be used on any +4 item to make it +5. Stuff that's equally desirable by all PCs, regardless of class and role.

I could use a big book of artifacts. In my opinion, artifacts now occupy the role of "scary and dangerous magic."
Seconded!

There are way way too few general-use artifacts out there. Apart from the DMG ones, most are highly specific adventure-tied ones. There are almost no general ones, when there should be dozens!

I could go for a book of artifacts.

I'd love to see a book on the Feywild.

I also really liked the environmental series that 3e had (e.g. Sandstorm, Frostburn, and Stormwrack).

I'm not being original here, but I need a book on fey and the Feywild. Seriously. For my mental health and stuff.

More on aberrations and the Far Realm would be great, along with more weird Astral Dominions. I simply love Shom and Hestavar, but there's so little detail on them... snif snif.

That, and more on my favourite gothic vampire ninja's, the shadar-kai.

My wish list is simple: I want a monk multiclass feat that gives monk unarmed strike, and an assassin multiclass feat that gives ki focus, so that I can create Jazz Hands, the Slapping Bard.
