My basic world map (Finished!)

I have updated my map even more. I have added the boarder and about half of the labeling. I think its coming along pretty good, I'm real happy how its turning out.

Sorry the text is kinda distorted because of the JPEG compression I have to use or the file would be about 20 megabytes

Does anyone know of a filter or plugin for Paint Shop Pro that will give a look of water stains? I think it would be a nice touch once I'm done to have it look like a worn and stained map.

Thanks,
Heath

The border really goes a long way there, very nice. You might try not having your text at too many angles, it gets a little confusing/hard to read.I would go Horizontal except for maybe rivers and mountains ...but the color of the text is perfect. Kudos!

Thanks Eosin,

Yeah I was inspired by those types of maps. As for the forests I used the fractal landmass setting and used a fill pattern. I can't remember where I got the pattern from but, I have about 25 various patterns that look like they are from older AD&D maps. I think I did a search for map symbols and found those. I will post them on the website if you want to download them

Well my first ever complete map is finally finished :D

I am quite proud how it all came out. I have completed the text and added some aging effects to give it an old feel to it. Thanks to everyone for their input on how to make it better.

The final image is pretty big at 1.3 megs so be warned.

Thanks,
Heath

A nice map indeed.Looks like plenty of room for adventuring! Good job.

Excellent quality. A few more of those under your belt and you should start submitting to places, or making sure some of the publishers here see your stuff. Maybe some entries in the Art Gallery here?
