My first D&D tool.

Hey everyone,


I started Monster Workbench for me and my friends to make being a DM in D&D easier. We loved it and still use it to this day, so I made a few updates and it now has 5E and 3.5E.


I believe in free software, so I am opening it up for everyone. I also have all of it open source. The code and the awesome spreadsheet I made is all free. Only thing I ask is some feedback. I want to make it better! The spreadsheet has every single monster with all stats and skills for all of 3.5E and 5E.


If you have an idea for it, or have some bug let me know, I want to collaborate. This is my first program I have ever made, as I have 0 coding experience, so be gentle.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? I am working on a spell section, but would really love some feedback to make it better or content that would be helpful!

UPDATE

Monster Workbench is now SRD/CDL compliant, WoTC approved it.

I have added the 5e Spellbook to it now, Below are the features and new screenshot. Hope to get some feedback.

Features:

• Dice roller with Modifiers based on Monsters stats.

• Monster Database by CR, with modifiers, rolls, and description built in.

• Searchable Spell Database with stats and descriptions.

• Random Name Generator for Multiple Races including Artifacts and Location names.

• Player Name and AC slots to roll against for initiative, to hit and damage.

• EXP calculator based on monster kills.

This looks awesome. I was working on a simple encounter generator. I'm not good with access but I like this much better. I would love to be able to incorporate the encounter generator into this and have up to say 3 different monsters up at the same time.

Any thought on putting a box say between attk bonus and ex where you could enter a value then click damage or heal?

Yes I downloaded your program 5 minutes ago and am already asking for more. I do realize this and those are just the initial thoughts I have after opening it up. Another thought thought would be a button next to the attack die to automatically roll that attack.

It's still awesome and I still see myself using it. If it had some of the other features mentioned it would probably be my primary everything tool

Thanks for the suggestion and I am glad you are actually using my app. Yea, I can add some sort of toggle that lets it show either Average or roll +mod. I will implement it in my next patch. Thanks again
