My first serious attempt at a map using CC2

First Post
I am new to the forums here so first I would like to say hello. It seems I have found a great place for getting feedback on my attempts to master CC2 as well as see some great artwork and maps from others.

Please let me know what you think about this map. I have been playing around with CC2 for a bit and I am looking forward to comments/constructive criticism.

Maybe I will get it to work this time

Nice! I like the river cutting through the forest! :)

It took me a couple of looks to figure out that it's supposed to be a peninsula. Maybe darken the blue of the water a tad, and add some beach-coloured beaches?

Keep going!

Not bad at all! Look at the Fractalize tool for the coastline; apply it once or twice to that line (I assume it's one line; if not, join them or make a Path from them) and it'll look properly 'kinky' for a coastline. Doing that to rivers also helps them look more natural. The real benefit is when you do close-in views; then the coastline or the river doesn't look like a series of straight lines.

Way better than my first maps looked :) I really need to get back into CC2; I'm starting to forget things about it. Not that I'm an expert or anything.

Thanks for the feedback

Thanks to everyone that provided me with feedback on my map. I am working on a new map and I plan on incorporating these suggestions. Especially the fractilize tool. I played around with that last evening and I loved the results. I am still open to any comments/suggestions. I will post my latest map upon completion for more construtive criticisms. Thanks again.

I second the suggestion for using the fractalize tool.

Also, unless you're going to put a bunch of islands in the sea, you might want to get a little closer to your landmass.
