My friend may end up winning Beauty & the Geek

Maybe they just don't pay him until the show airs.

AFAIK, all of the reality shows include clauses in the contract saying that if you reveal anything before it airs, you not only forfeit any prize but have to pay a penalty.

No, it isn't a dating show really. The geeks are paired up with beauties, but not for romance.

Now as it happens, this is the most successful reality show for spawning real-world relationships. Whether this is due to the fact that is isn't a dating show or in spite of it is a matter of opinion.

No time to read the thread but I thought I would send out a congratulatory shout to Jasmine and her geek on their win! Jas regularly babysits for a friend of mine's kids but it gets weirder. My friend Tequila Joe's little brother Sam was on the team opposing Jas! We were drinking at the "Grad" when I was out in CA last week on some business but Sam was very careful to avoid giving away the ending. Anyway, congrats to them all!

Okay. Just kidding. I don't know the beauties.
:)

Mark, that's just weird and surreal. My coworker knows Nicole, and Maverick Weirdo knows Will. Small frikkin' world.

Heh. Gotta read the spoiler, my friend. ;)

In truth, though, I was tooling around to dig up some information to start a chapter of the Alpha Delta Phi Society and stumbled across an announcement cheering for Dave. I followed a link or two and wound up watching the last two episodes of B&G but the final episode was not yet online. That's where I gathered information for my little ruse. My apologies for taking you in. Still a small world, however. :)

Congrats to your friend Dave!

He is in for a weird time right now, where he goes from feeling like the entire world is watching him, and having this stuff he must accomplish every day under high stress, to a period of relative empty nothingness. It's going to take a while for him to feel like he has "landed" back in the real world.

Well I dont know any of them but I *know* I saw that Sam guy on 8 simple rules...

He isn't just a party promoter or whatever he claimed as his title but definitely an actor as well.

Phbbt!

No harm done, of course. And the bounds of my credulity are less stretched now.

Folks knew Sam was an actor, incidentally. Although he wasn't a plant, I do think that not recognizing that formally was a mistake.

Yah. My wife is both a homemaker and an occasional actor. When she was on "Who Wants to be a Superhero? Season 2" she told the Producers up front she was also an actor. However, because Stan Lee was not aware she was an actor when she was cast (they intentionally didn't inform him so as not to sway him one way or the other, and because she was only coincidentally also an actor), they decided to call her just a homemaker. Which is fine, except it created all sorts of ruffled feathers on various message boards about her also being an actor. Had they recognized it up front on the show, it wouldn't have caused as much trouble behind the scenes.
