My Halfing Paladin

Taylor needs some work, I knew that before, but I really know it now. Any ideas for good doggy feats?

I also found the Monster Manual rather lacking for info on dogs. I know it is not a pet shop guide, but there are some really impressive canines out there, a Great Dane or a Mastiff for example. I think these would make great halfling mounts. (A dashund probably wouldn't, unless you were a pixie paladin).

I wish I had thought of the Celestial dog. Maybe a half dragon/riding dog would work too. Hey, this is fantasy right?

...I go forward, BOLDLY and ASSERTIVELY......

Now that you mention it, yes. Focus on survival - it's the paladin's job to attack, not the dog's Any of the +2 saving throw feats is good, for starters. Dodge is a good choice, as is Mobility.

You can assume your riding dog is any of those breeds. A riding dog is any of the larger breeds - that's the way it's written

Well, to get the Celestial Riding Dog I had to delay doggie advancement by one level. That hurts a bit, let me tell you. I thought it was worth it - especially as the concept of a celestial riding dog is so cool. IF you are thinking short-term, this is pretty exspensive. In the really long-term, the cost is nothing - if your mount survives that long. And the celestial template does great things for survivability.

If you really want a celestial mount, appeal to your DM. Maybe Taylor can be "blessed" by the gods, or something. It will cost you, though!

well, dog-lovers might argue that doggies ARE blessed by the gods, but that's another point... LOL

i posted to your thread in the Rogue's Gallery, Artoomis.
Solid paladin strategies by Carpe DM.

Also, your halfling paladin really SHOULD have a Shield of Command, upping his CHA by 4.
It's the same price as a +3 shield, but when you add Divine Might at 12th level ;) it will really help add on damage to whatever weapon you're using, whether it's lance or others.

Thanks. Does Shield of Command raise the Cha for ALL purposes? Or is it only for encounter purposes?

Cool. I asked specifically because the Breastplate of Command does NOT raise Charisma but gives +2 to charisma checks. I'll have to take a peak at DotF when I next play (not having my own copy, you see).

ahh!
that explains why you aren't equipped with Armor of Shield of Command (hey, would those stack?
I just looked, and i don't see why they wouldn't stack) and why you're not using Divine Might.

I am considering Divine Might for my next feat.
