So I am trying to track down a copy of Lost City of Barakus.
The combination of modular and individual adventure sites with a unified and coherent sub-setting looks quite attractive to me, especially since I will be starting a new campaign in the next week or 2.
Check on eBay, get a ballpark. If there is an offer sufficiently enticing maybe I'll buy there.
But after shipping the cost is the same, I have to wait, might have hassle of signing for/picking up said package, etc...not worth my time.
Contact the (Not so F) LGS to find out if they have the module. Not only do they not have the module, they in general do not carry modules, because they don't sell well. Two strikes against it:
1) a module
2) S&S imprint, not WotC
...But they can special order it for me, and sell it to me at full price.

Well, goody-goody-gumdrops.
A preference for core isn't a surprise, but a philosphy of just not carrying modules strikes me as bizarre. Is this an aberration, or is it becoming the norm?
Also, any advice on the purchase itself, aside from eBay?
