My revision of Alignment and Personality, with Social Standing to boot

Social feats

I really like the social feats. I'm not much of an alignment fan, well written as it is, just out of personal taste. I prefer to focus more on the specific relationships of characters rather than an overreaching moral compass. Stuff like the beliefs and instincts in Burning Wheel or the character bonds "game-hack" discussed at Deep in the Game.

Good stuff, though, RC. I'd love to see more.

Re: Social Feats

Interesting idea, but I'm still going to harp on the Lawful/Chaotic divide.

Why would the scion of a noble family who is Chaotic not be able to have both that feat and the Fanatic social feat of, "Depose current Government"?

Simply because he's chaotic?

At first glance I have to say this: the alignment system is brilliant! Social standing probably still needs tweaking.

Currently I see no way of personal freedoms and their effect on the implification of lifestyle (values). A person born into Upper Upper class might not want too much attention and doesn't want to be thought of as 'robbery worthy'. They want to adjust their lifestyle to be upper middle class, thereby being able to live comfortably and be able to make an income on compound interest.

I am curious as to how you will approach this.
