So, I was invited to join a relatively high level (FR) campaign as a stand-in for some out-of towners, and after a couple days of almost religious pondering I've decided to make a Human Shade Rgr6 / Asn5. As assassins go it's a melee char, so I chose TWF for fighting style, did skills and feats, a short backstory, rolled HP and off we go.
NOTE: after adjustments for level, items (and shadowy conditions), all stats are 15ish.
Q1: I like to prepare some things ahead and the next level is a feat level. This is what the character has so far:
* Improved toughness (+4 Ecl made me worry about HP)
* Weapon focus: Long Sword
* Blind Fight
* Combat Reflexes
* Improved Initiative
* Improved Critical: long sword
* Live My Nightmare (found this one Very Appealing, and scary as hell)
* ITWF (well, not exactly, but the ranger ability is close enough)
* Endurance (another one from Rgr listing)
* Track (from ranger class ability list)
note: I took 2 flaws to gain more feats than regularly available.
note: ranger bonuses in the list.
I'm thinking: quickened spell-like ability: Invisibility for the CL 12 feat. so I'd appreciate some feat suggestions. What'd be fun? Cool but unneccessary? Just plain silly, but workable (at least sort of?)
Q2: The Spell Issue. This is kinda annoying - the choices are sooooo limited. This is what I got now:
1st
* True Strike
* Feather Fall
* Obscuring Mist
2nd
* Darkness
* Alter Self
3rd
* Deeper Darkness
so, there's s known spell slot empty for every available level. what to do, what to do?
Remember, there are ranger spells to cover up some losses with lvl 1 spells. I don't have a clue what would be nice/effective/beautiful. My feelings are towards any [shadow] type spell. What's out there?
Q3: What class/PrC next level? I still have lv 5 assassin skill points (7) unused, so I can adjust a bit to gain the required ranks.
