Not dead yet but we got close
Hey all,
I had not posted in so long I had a hard time remembering my log-in info. Kenny alerted me about this thread so I thought I would take a moment and respond.
Mystic Eye Games is not exactly dead. Due to severe personal issues we have taken a loooong time off and are still not back in the saddle. Those personal issues have not gone away. I won't speak for Hal but for myself, I have spent the last year and a half dealing with a nastly electrical heart condition that I am still dealing with. I am a bit better but nowhere near back to normal.
I did have to go back into the workforce but, again, due to my heart problem I had to quit my job.
You can imagine what can happen to a small company when both the primary people take ill. We should have slowed down long before we did to take care of our personal stuff but we kept plodding along and dug a bit of a hole for ourselves in a number of ways.
The end result is where we are at now.
We are not dead but we are struggling to climb back up the ladder, so-to-speak. With the help of Phil Reed we have been adding a couple of PDFs here and there so as to keep the name out there until we are recovered enough, or at least I am, to tackle our challenges as well as bigger projects.
What we WILL be doing in the near future is:
DarkWalkers: A Hunt Rise of Evil book. It will come out in PDF
soon and then we will see what comes next.
Revised HROE core: We are slowly completing a revised set of HROE core books. A Player's Guide and GMs Guide. it is going slow but I am hoping for this year. These will be at RPGnow.
Fall of Man: We have a 300+ page manuscript we need to tackle. The rules are done. Most of the art is done. We will, at some point get this out at least as a PDF.
Graphic Novel: I have begun to complete the graphic novel again. I hope to have it done in a month or so depending on how much I can work effectively.
None of these are immediately planned for print. If we can recover the health of us and the company then maybe. There is light at the end of the tunnel but it seems darn far off.
Cashflow is a huge issue of course, since becoming ill it has dwindled to a pittance. Add a declining market to that and ouch. In the beggining, I was able to supplement the company but since taking ill I could not do that anymore.
If people contact me directly I WILL respond to them. Perhaps not quickly but I will. If you have a topic or issue you want to discuss feel free to drop me a line. I am not actively looking at discussion boards, etc and neither is Hal. It has nothing to do with EN World or the peoeple here it is just not a priority.
I am sorry for letting our fans down and several of our loyal team members as well but life really threw us for a loop and we have not recovered from it yet.
I will let Hal know about this thread. I don't feel comfortable sharing what his personal challenges are.
Without drudging this along that is it. I wish things were better and perhaps they will be but for now we are doing things very slowly and in small, managable bites.
