D&D 5E Mystic Theurge Class on Dungeon Master's Guild

Why not just make it an arcane tradition?
Give domain spells for the mystic theurge and maybe some armor proficiencies. Require one of them be prepared all the time. If you have cleric levels and chosen the same domain cleric and wizard levels stack for access. Every domain in the mystic theirge entry has a few wizard spells listed and level 6,7,8 and 9 spells from both lists.
If you don't want to be that restrictive, you have level 6, 10 and 14 wizard abilities you can use to emulate clericy things like turn undead and other domain abilities.

I like that idea. A wizard dabbling in divine magic as a tradition, using some Cleric methods to reach his goal.

Nothing wrong with that idea. The only issue, though, and it is a big problem from my PoV, is that Mystic Theurge isn't just for Wizard and Cleric, it can be for Sorcerer, Druid, and Bard too. Also, that means the MT part kicks in after level 1. This may be my AD&D roots showing, but I hate the concept that an MC character is basically an exercise in optimizing level selection and order rather than just saying, "Hey, half of this, half of that."

Up to $2.44! I can in theory cash in for a grand total of $0.44!

I would think the Mystic Theurge is a prime candidate for 5e's prestige class set up. That way any spellcaster of arcane or divine base (prereq level X) can take it on.
