Mystic Theurge?

my DM doesn't believe you guys. >.< Can you guys give some compelling arguments as to why this is, or better yet, a link to an offical WotC ruling on this?

An official ruling? It's published right on their website. It says what it says. You don't get more 'official' than that. Not that official really matter, but lots of nimrods seem to be obsessed with it.

There's not really a clarification on wording other than I believe a Sage Advice quote about adding 2 spells to your spellbook whenever you gain a wizard spellcasting level....

What doesn't he believe? The class seems pretty straightforward...take a Wizzy, strip them of bonus feats, and give them the ability to advance cleric spellcasting along with wizard spellcasting....that's the class.

Yes, but is there a clarification on the wording? I'm thinking maybe of a Sage Advice.

There isn't any clarification on the wording because its just been released. But the way to determine that a Wizard would need a spellbook is that you get a +1 in an Arcane and a Divine spellcasting class. You DON'T combine them into one. You still have TWO spell lists from TWO different classes. You still cast Arcane spells as a Wizard(with Arcane Spell Failure and all) and you still cast Divine Spells as a Cleric. Does that help any?

I remember there being a sage advice ruling on that, yes. But I don't know where or when. But any prestige class that has continued advancement in Arcane Spells includes the free two spells in your spellbook each level.

If you are interested in reviewing the balance or "brokenness", there are several threads, none more than 10 days old, in this very forum. They make for an interesting read, and have arguments for both sides. They convinced me that it wasn't broken, at least if you do not take Epic level play as per the Epic Level Handbook into account.
