Name your favorite D&D book

OK, I already posted but since I've been seeing other posts and thinking about it, I felt the need to add the red basic boxed set with B2-Keep on the Borderlands, which my brother and I got for a Xmas present in 1979, and thus began my role-playing at the age of 7. Happy 25 year anniversary to me and all you other 79s.

Chalk another to Faiths & Avatars

I will also note that the only second edition material (or first) in my house is the BIRTHRIGHT stuff and a Mayfair module - The Lich Lords.

My favorite

3.5 book: Libris Mortis

3.0 Book: Book of the Righteous

2E book: The Waterdeep City State boxed set.

1E Book: DMG

OD&D Book: Only modules stick out in my mind. Death's Ride, Warlords. Sabre River. Awesome fun.

GAZ 10 - The Orcs of Thar
This book is the best representation of a 'monster nation' I have ever seen. But then it goes even further and makes it a guide to a whole alliance of them. Pure brilliance.

But get this, TOoT still only takes second place.

That's because the best ever D&D book is the little white training manual for Thars orcs that comes with it. *thumbs up*

second edition Bard Handbook. It really allowed the class to do more and in a good way.

I really loved the Halfling Whistler.

Have had a hankering for a while now to create a Halfling PrC that specializes in counterspells as a homage to the Whistler....hmm.

That would be really cool

Hmmm...

Well, after you learn to play, you only really need the SRD, so I haven't touched a Player's Handbook, Monster Manual, or DMG in about a year. I'd have to say that Unearthed Arcana has the most material that gets used every single game in my campaign. The various "Complete" series are close contenders (Complete Divine, Complete Warrior, Complete Arcane, etc.).

As far as non-WotC books, any of Malhavoc's Eldritch Might and Hallowed Might books could win the prize. Also, quickly coming to compete with those are the wonderful E.N. Arsenal books.

Finally, Silverthorne Games would be much cursed by my players if they had any idea how much material I use from that company to make monsters!
