Narnia vs Kong

Which would you pick, Kong or Narnia?

Well I'd rather see Narnia but both are going to wait until they are out on DVD. If I watch Kong at all. 3 freakin' hours? I had trouble with 1.5 hours of Kong from the original, I doubt I can handle double that.

I went to see Kong, and have not gone to see Narnia.

However, the reason that I didn't go see Narnia is that the TV mini series was so very good. (cramming it into a movie length does not seem like as good an idea...)

The Auld Grump

I've seen both movies, and while I liked both movies, I have to say I liked Kong better than Narnia. In general, I found Kong more interesting and exciting than Narnia. I never read the Narnia books as a kid, so as an adult they hold no nostalgic value for me. As a movie, it was alright. Could have used some more character development, though. The whole thing felt rushed. Kong, on the other hand, was definitely not rushed. :)

As an aside, I really wish Kong had come out this summer, before I started my Eberron campaign. It would have really changed how I ran the Xen'drik expeditions in that game.... :p

I saw both.

Narnia left me vaguely unsatisfied. It did a credible job of telling the story but it didn't really capture the magic. I'm glad I saw it on the big screen, but I doubt I'll want to see it again.

Kong, on the other hand, kicked my butt in a big way. I was hooked from the very beginning and the time just flew by. And, Good Lord, if you're gonna see it don't wait until it comes out on DVD. It thrives on the big screen.

As far as pathos goes (and both movies go for the pathos pretty hard) Kong wins out. I was blubbering like a baby during the whole New York scene. He was so lost, so afraid, and so REAL.

I waited in line for Narnia, and I chose Saw II at the cheap theatres over Kong. I'm just not interested in another re-telling of the Kong story.
