[NBC] Revelations

Ranger nailed it, though: They are setting it up for a (possible) regular series (though it's not in the Fall lineup; my wife works for Telemundo, now owned by NBC, and she got to see the NBC Upfront on Monday, and Revelations is nowhere in sight, where she knew about the series from last year's upfront, so perhaps a mid-season replacement, if that at all).

I was dissapointed with the finale, but then again, I was dissapointed by the series in general. I was hoping that the writer would have guts for the finale; I understand that Apocalypse, in the universe of the show, cannot be stopped, so I wasn't expecting them to go, kill Satan and then go gelatto with the Pope in Rome. But the events were mediocre and un-gutsy, to say the least.

That they got Hawk back was the only accomplishment they had in the whole series, really. They never got info about the Christ-child, no confirmation of the birth of the Antichrist-child (literally the son of a goat, perhaps the only thing in the series where I give them points for making me queasy for a few moments), and Isiah Hayden in that wonderful cliffhanger limbo where he may be dead or maybe not. Bleh.

I was hoping the writer would have the guts to have something defined, anything. The death of Hayden would have been the most obvious, but perhaps the death of the Antichrist-child would have been good as well, just something to show that this was not the 6-part setup it really was. Too bad, I was looking forward to some demons appearing.

Being that I am a masochist, however, I do hope they pick it up for a series, or perhaps another mini. I like the subject, even if I will no doubt pick it apart week after week.

I gotta admit, they could do better. Maybe the writers should read Blood and Relics (though it is missing a Knight of Malta/Hospitaller advanced class).
