Nearing 100000 members - How did you find En World?

I think I first visited in 2002 then promptly forgot about it when I left Uni and stopped playing D&D for a bit - but then I started coming again around 2004 when I started a new campaign and eventually stopped lurking and signed up. (And was a paid member during one of the server drives.) There was a point where basically every lunchtime at work for a couple of years I was on here having a read. :-) I would occasionally browse RPG.Net and WotC's boards too but they never really compared.

Unfortunately, that also means I was around during the initial 4E announcement and release (along with fun times like the Dragon/Dungeon cancellation) and the flame wars around that time burnt me out. Combine that with my group sticking with 3E for the most part and then my own D&D campaign ending after six years.... and I only pop in from time to time these days.

Still, I read a lot of awesome threads here, whether it was Gary Gygax posting or Piratecat getting me into Dread or making an online friend in the form of Merric, whose comments on my blog wouldn't happen if it hadn't been for this place. ;-) I got a lot of assistance for my campaign from here too, and a major plot twist in my campaign (using Venger form the D&D cartoon as a mega villian with meta-powers. No, really!) would never have happened without this place as a sounding board.

It's great to read this thread because even though I'm mostly an RPG.Net reader these days, seeing some familiar icons and user names has got me feeling very happy. :)
