I am no student of ancient cultures, before I talk, I should read a book.

But there's one thing that I *do* know, there's a lot of ruins in Mesopotamia.

Sorry, just had to channel the B-52's for a second there :)

Looks awesome.

Well, it's a nice picture, but it says nothing of ancient Mesopotamia to me. (Does web searching, relearns that it's not a historical fantasy setting, and you made up Yath.) Blah.

Y'know, though, judging from the era and region, the name Yath, and the artwork, I'm getting the impression that this isn't the historical Mesopatamia but rather a Lovecraftian/Crawley-flavored setting inspired more on the Necronomicon than history, which could make for an interesting game.

So, how 'bout it, Necromancer folks... Am I close to target here?

[Edit: Having just read the product info at the Necromancer site, I'm fairly sure I am.]

The author definitely drew on actual historical references, but he did have to give it a "fanatasy" feel. However, if you want to run a low or no magic campaign based on this book you will be able to do that too.

Oh, it definately needs that fantasy feel, I agree... Just trying to gauge the leanings of that feel from the bits 'n' pieces linked above. And if my guess is right, than I'm all for it (it'll likely jump to the top of my Must Get list). On the other hand, if the information in it permits some degree of intergration with, say, Testament, than I'm all for that, too (although likely not going on the top of the list, but on it at any rate).

I think the only thing that would disinterest me from it would be "Greyhawk in Ancient Earth". :\
