Necromancer Games--TONS OF FREE STUFF HERE!!!

Yeah, but the question every geek want to ask, just to be sure, is -- "Free" as in "free speech", or "free" as in "free beer" ? ;)

(And the answer should be along the line of "Both! OGC, man! Yay!")

Alzrius:
Sword & Sorcery Studios, IIRC. They had their Creature Collection out there very quickly.

Funny thing is, despite the S&S logo on the covers, the book is legally credited to Necromancer Games.

Hmm, that's true, as I recall, Clark and Scott had quite a bit of input on that, right? Much similar to the Tome of Horrors. Still, the website thing should still count, since the companies are separate, just closely allied (to the point of being quite firmly tied together).

Skarp got it.

Necromancer Games had the second d20 site up in all of d20 history. Fiend Games (which has essentially vanished from the face of the earht, though allegedly affiliated with Troll Lord Games) beat me by a day :) .

Skarp, email me at clark@necromancergames.com

Here is another trivia question (Skarp is not eligible, and no necro-faithful either):

Who had the third d20 site?

Clark

Actually, Scott had nothing to do with the original creature collection by SSS. Due to legal arrangements, the Creature Collection is (c) to me personally (though it is a SSS book, not a Necromancer book. That was just the way I had the business arrangement working with Steve Wieck of SSS at the time).

CC was hardly the first d20 product, though it was certainly by far the most significant early d20 product. Heck, it beat the WotC MM to press by a few weeks. The first d20 products are, of course, Wizard's Amulet and then GR and Atlas' Freeport and Three Days to Kill, respectively. Kudos to GR and Atlas for having the first d20 products for sale (mine was free).

Mystical Alchemy Games was in there very early. Unfortunately, they put some free stuff online (including an adventure) and then disappeared. Apparently the two owners had some sort of disagreements or scheduling problems and decided to go their own ways.

Green Ronin.

If I keep saying it I'll be right eventually. :)

I'm taking a different approach: shouting out answers until I get the right one.

"Fast Forward Games!"

"Wizards of the Coast!"

"Hasbro!"

"Games Workshop!"

"Walmart!"

Glyfair is right. Mystical Alchemy had the third d20 site up. It was great. It had an interface designed by Fluid--the people who did the character generator for the 3E PHB. They had a name from WotC or Dungeon or something. They promised a campaign world and a monthly ezine. Nothing ever came of it. But I can tell you, when I saw that site go up I was sweating! I was like, oh man, their site is cooler than mine. I'm never gonna survive! Funny, in retrospect.

Glyfair (unless you are a necro regular and I dont know your ENWorld persona) email me at clark@necromancergames.com
