Necromancer Q&A: Let's ask Orcus some questions!

Jester - if you end up doing what you are thinking about - let us know the total cost you had to pay. I think it's a great idea.

Yes, Jester, that is a very cool idea. Get written permission from Bill and Clark to re-use the cover, just to be legally sure, and I would be shocked if they said no.

Let us know about the cost if you end up checking into it.

I think I have hit on a solution for the Tome Revised. We are going to relay it out with the v3.5 changes and all the errata and include some new art that was done. And make it available as a watermarked PDF. I am talking with Mike Chaney about laying it out now. So hopefully we will have that done soon.

Excellent.

Given how full the release schedules are I suspect that any C&C modules would not be in the short term as it looks like pretty much everything is committed till 2006 now.

C&C Modules

To the best of my knowledge there are no plans for any Necromancer Games C&C modules in the near future.

Our production schedule is basically full and when you combine that with the fact that conversion of d20 modules (or old AD&D modules) to C&C is really not that difficult and the smaller market that C&C modules would have, it just doesn't seem like something we would do. They pretty much designed the game so it would be easy to convert from almost any direction. You can use virtually any adventure in C&C but people aren't going to buy C&C adventures to convert to d20 (at least not in large numbers).

C&C is a great system and I hope it takes off, I just don't see us having the time and/or resources to do C&C specific modules anytime soon.

Mike Chaney is doing a new layout for Tome Revised. It will be a PDF product and we are shooting for more of a 1 per page layout (not always possible). There will be some new art.

In fact, I just proofed the layouts for the credits, intro, and chapters A through E (D is huge) tonite and sent them back with my comments. I should proof the rest this week when it is sent to me. So hopefully the pdf will be available in a few weeks.

It just occured to me that if you're designing a product for PDF in the first place (as opposed to a print and PDF product), you don't have to bother with things like making sure you have a multiple of 32 page, like you do with print. This makes it more possible to be more "free" with the layout, and allows you to do things like making certain you get one monster per page and similar things.

True. It is easier to make it 1 monster per page but not always possible. Sometimes a monster runs just a bit over. You dont want to waste a whole page. Plus, the book is huge as it is. 1 per page for every monster would make it like 450 pages or something like that. That is just too big. But, as much as possible, we did 1 monster per page.
