The sad thing is this sort of thing will only get worse as more and more companies outsource to China, India, and Russia all of their IT work. Because for programmers to work on a system in India, they need access to all of the data in India - so then all of your personal information you trust with some company is in the hands of multiple foreign subcontracters, any one of which is a potential leak to the criminal community and all of which are outside the reach of US law. But hey, they saved a little money this quarter by doing this, even though it will ultimate cost the company lots of money in the long run and screw over the consumer... wall street loves it.

Sorry, little rant there. I used to work in IT, until I saw it had no future and I switched to law school.

I myself have never been to Chicago, so I can't comment on accuracy. Regardless, from my perspective at least, it is VERY well done.

It's broken into four major sections:
1: History and descriptions of the city from the mortal perspective with bits about weird supernatural oddities that don't really fall into any of the following three catagories.
2: Chicago from the Vampire: The Requiem point of view, plus an intro adventure.
3: Chicago from the Werewolf: the Forsaken point of view, plus an intro adventure.
4: Chicago from the Mage: the Awakening point of view, plus an intro adventure.

It's a huge book, so I've got a LOT of reading ahead of me.

That's wild. I've never seen this before. Usuallly those "hackers/crackers/bushwhackers" are out to have fun, to test their skillz, or to piss people off for the hell of it. But extortion? And selling databases for money? Wow.

It's big business. Plenty of sites have been extorted. Big networks of "zombie" computers are used to send spam or launch denial-of-service attacks (for extortion again).
