Well I'm the dm and her bf is a davati blackguard who is an agent if the raven queen. So as the raven queen I commanded him to kill her existing character and the raven queen rebirthed her as the genasi.
Flavour-wise, remember the Bloodline abilities that let you be more vampire-ish. Some of those are pretty cool for melee types, not sure about casters.
Have you considered being a warforged reskinned as a mummy/lich? They would work pretty much the same. I think Warforged get +2 Int and they are really hard to kill, like a good lich/mummy should be.
