Pathfinder 1E Necromancer

So, in 3.5 and such we had the Dread Necromancer class, as I can't find anything of the sort in Pathfinder, I'm studying my options.

Race-wise, I'm going with a Dhampir since I never played one and they look rather interesting, but as necros go, there're always two main ways, cleric or sorcerer. The sorcerers became much more interesting in Pathfinder, I was wondering if a sorcerer with the Undead bloodline would be a good way to roll a decently efficient necromancer, or if cleric is still the main way to go.

What are your opinions/suggestions, guys?

Well...

Of course, a Cleric with the Death and Repose domains (esp the Undead/Souls subdomains) are good. The Undead Lord Archetype really is nice.

Sorcerers should do the Undead Bloodline, perhaps with the Sanguine Wildblood mutation.

Good old Necromancers are nice, esp. with the Undead Subspecialty.

For something really odd, try a Dirge bard.

Lastly, the Witch Class has some good necromantic ability, esp with the gravecaller archetype.

A necromantic bard would be a sight xD The witch looks interesting, never rolled one really.

The sanguine Wildblood is very interesting, and would be a pretty nice addition to the Blood Feats the Dhampir can get.

Can't wait to start sinking my teeth on this chara. (pun shamelessly intended xD)

Now to start figuring out what feats are good xD Since I'll be taking a couple of Dhampir ones

Depends a lot on what you want to do with your necromancer: raise lots of undead? Cleric it is. Raise one powerful undead? Play a refluffed Summoner, they're really good. Negative Energy your thing? Wizard, or maybe Sorcerer.

Witches have been mentioned, and Oracles are another option. Really, there's a bunch of stuff out there you might want. Narrow it down a little first.

Yeah, I was thinking more about negative energy with perhaps a couple of undeads, even if weak, just to increase my numbers. Sorcerers have some interesting spells for necromancy from what I recall

If you are willing to go 3rd party, then Deathmage is cool, too. Is sort of a less powerful druid that can opt to take an undead companion and has a bunch of other abilities. I DMed a game where a friend of mine used it and it was quite balanced.
