I wasn't writing about that kind of necromancer. There is a lot of positive things someone with knowledge of how life works can do and not just healing. Think what it would mean if more animals could be domesticated or altered to provide more (milk, hide, meat, work, etc.) Or how to kill vermin and other pests and reduce food loss.
And rewriting the necromancy school should take a DM an hour at most to include what spells he thinks are apropriate.
