Need a ridiculous skirmish room

One of my players is going through his trials next week to qualify for a monk/wizard prestige class.

I need a good skirmish map (or idea for a setting, I can draw the map myself) where four teams of two monk/wizards could have crazy combats and much hilarity ensue.

There is no limit on what could be there (maze, endless pits of doom, etc) since this order is part of the church of Azuth. Nothing is off limits, as long as it is memorable.

The campaign has been very stable and normal in terms of settings thus far, so it shouldn't take too much weirdness to create a memorable experience, and nothing you can think of would likely be cliched.

Most of the candidates will be 7th-9th level with a roughly equal mix of monk and wizard levels.

Edit: One last thing. It will be in Mordenkainen's mansion type hideout, not on the Prime Material Plane, if that matters.

Have a pit in the middle of a room. The room itself should be about 25 foot across with a hole in the middle of the roof, directly over the pit. You cannot see the bottom of the pit, thus making it for all intents and purposes, bottomless.

There are two doors in the room, the one they enter by, which locks automatically when they arrive, and one guarded by a stone gollum (!). Basically.

Enchant the pit so when they throw something down there, they hear a splash, indicating water. Then have the gollum advance toward them...

Hopefully they should jump into the pit, trying to avoid the gollum. After falling for one round, have them land in the arms of a stone gollum, who then procedes to divest them of everything bar underwear.

Basically, the pit is a reality loop where you just keep falling through the same pit and coming out of the roof, unless you can grab the side of the pit (DC 25). The gollum can cross the room in a round and catch them. Thus creating much hilarity (for you). ;)

Cheers,

The Great Sage, Equal of Heaven.
