Need an outlandish character idea

So, I'm working on a character concept for an upcoming D&D homebrew. The setting is similar to Final Fantasy 6, with Magitech. The world is run by (not all evil) vampires. So... really, any interesting concepts are welcome. One idea I've had so far is to play an intelligent golem.

Oh, and any axis of interest is welcome. Even if it's just an idea for an unusual race, template, etc.

Play an artificer if Eberron is allowed. It will fit well with a magitech world, plus you can make a really powerful character.

High ECL starting, 15-17. It will quickly go into Epic Level.

Troll Barbarian with the fiend template, or any other template that gives a defense against fire and acid. He'll be using a halbard. Try to get some kind of item that gives spell resistance for maximum effect and don't neglect a ring of free action, cloak of resistance, and ring of invisibility.

Have fun!

Play a half celestial vampire (or any evil undead for that matter) human you were a half celestial before becoming undead obviously. Vampire might not work as well since they are not all evil in your world.

Eberron is very likely what he is going to base his campaign on, so artificer will probably be allowed. I know he said warforge something-something is allowed. I suppose I should pick up Eberron sometime :)

Hm, play Cyan or Sabin. Gau'd probably be a Druid/Fighter or something.

Or just a Psion. They fit into the world well.

Celestial Warforged could be fun. Or a Half-Fiend one. Would be interesting to template.

I like the ooze idea.
