Need cool NE and CN goddesses

AFG,

Technically though, Astery is a GH god as well as FR god. I mean the dragon gods in GH are pretty much the same as the ones in FR. The only difference is Io doesn't have to listen to Ao rant about him stealing his IP. :p

But I still don't get why people like Shar. I mean seriously, other than help create a new weave, stand against Mystra, what the heck does she do?

Hang out and be the single most elder god in FR, possibly including predating Ao?

Seek the destruction of everything in order to return existance to blissful void?

Kill other gods, eat them and take their stuff? And when that's not an option, cook up a copy of their stuff and market it as better than the original.

Plot and scheme from the shadows, pitting brother against brother and nation against nation?

Know everything?

Frankly Shar doesn't get nearly the face time she deserves. She's 'A' list material when it comes to dark gods. Most others couldn't hold a candle to her, and if they could she'd put it out.

Not nec. Greyhawk, but something that I could get access to.

Female is the idea I am going with, some sort of "Maidens of Destiny" groove I am currently rolling over in my brain.

Use a little bit of fantasy... :)

If it's your own homebrew or if it's generic D&D, instead of going crazy because you cannot find the perfect female deities, take a male deity and make it female. What would be wrong in a female version of Nerull or Olidammara? Just change their names so that they're not instantly recognizable.

Sejs,

Well if she deserves the face time, perhaps she should do more to prove it than just sit around in the shadows, plotting and plotting for times on end.

On the "Two heads are better than one" I want to see if you guys give me ideas with these goddesses. While I could make up my own, that is also true of every single class, race, feat, spell and monster.

IMC, there are three Gods and three Goddesses. The three gods are:

  • Raelor LG - Lord of Light, Sun, Justice, Law and Good, regarded by Royalty and Nobility
  • Kossuth N - Guardian of the Forge, Fire, Metal, Skill at Arms, tithed by Mercenaries, Craftsmen and Artisans
  • Cernunnos - CN - Horned Master of the Hunt, Thunder and Storms, Animals and Nature, War and Chaos, his praises sung by Sailors and the Wild Men of the North

The three goddesses are:

  • Eilonwye CG - The Maiden Muse - Air, Luck, Art, Love, Trickery and Truth are her perview
  • Alrainna NG - The Mother of Mercy - Earth, Harvest, Healing, Home, Hearth, Good, Marriage and Mercy are her concerns
  • Selene LN - Do Not Call Her Crone - The Silver Lady - Moon, Death, Magic, Knowledge, Water (esp. the ocean), and Law are her province

Note how Truth and Knowledge are not in the same portfolio, and how Truth, Justice, Knowledge and Mercy are all at different spokes of the alignment wheel. (Obviously, this is my humble opinion.)

Note how there's no Evil gods. That's because IMHO Evil is very well developed in D&D -- there are plenty of wonderfully evil demons, devils, daemons and demodands that make me salivate ... uh ... evil drool. So, no real need to add more stuff there IMHO.

If you're going with three goddesses, I'd try to pick a Mother-Maiden-Crone trio. It's a formula, but it works.

Cheers, -- N

Some good suggestions Nifft! :)

*thinks maybe people should try to be a little more semi-helpful for cries like these* Sure Particle could just make it up on his own. But maybe he considers us an excellent resource to help with what ever problem he's currently facing.

Ed,

Well see now if you need a goddess like that, you know where to turn to now! :D

Hail Eris!

I don't know if she's got a d20 incarnation (she must) but Eris, goddess of discord and strife and sister to Ares, pretty much screams CN to me.
