Black,

*pats* Sokay. Some people are good at some things, me I'm good with D&D. ;) Some times.

I'm better with the Scarred Lands usually. ;)

Darn you Blacky!!@ I was going to say that. :p

Man must want to be a drow something fierce.

That or a half fiend...

Ah. But I am good with typing really fast. And with olnly a few typos.

I have to say going Epic with players new to D&D isn't usually a great idea, in my opinion. After all, you can kick all kinds of butt with mid-level (IMX 9-13th level or so) PCs.

That being said, you say epic... but just how epic are we talking here? Level 21? 27? 40?

Wik's suggestion of Ninja seems the best option, in my opinion. I haven't played a Spellthief yet, but they do look like oodles of fun.

A Diamond Mind/Shadow Hand based Swordsage would be decent at high levels, if you have access tot he Book of 9 Swords. The Shadow Hand school has a lot of decent shadow-based attacks and tactics and also has a pretty good prestige class associated with it.

There's also the old standby of Rogue/Assassin (if you're evil) or Rogue/Showdancer (if you're not).

Since you're in epic territory, you may also qualify (depending on just how epic your PC is) for a couple of the epic prestige classes (found in the SRD), such as the Epic Infiltrator or Perfect Wight.

Still, we need a bit more info. Do you have any ideas about a race you might want to try?

:p

Yeah well anyway, drow cannot actual see in magical darkness but if they take blindfighting and I believe something that gives them tremorsense, they'll be fine.

Wik,

I never looked that closely to Shadow Dancer.

I also suggest we listen to Sound. He's smart! ;)

From SRD

"Shadow Jump (Su)
At 4th level, a shadowdancer gains the ability to travel between shadows as if by means of a dimension door spell. The limitation is that the magical transport must begin and end in an area with at least some shadow. A shadowdancer can jump up to a total of 20 feet each day in this way; this may be a single jump of 20 feet or two jumps of 10 feet each. Every two levels higher than 4th, the distance a shadowdancer can jump each day doubles (40 feet at 6th, 80 feet at 8th, and 160 feet at 10th). This amount can be split among many jumps, but each one, no matter how small, counts as a 10-foot increment."

Isn't actually that good.

Since it's not actual planar jumping, no it's not.

Again I think we might need to look at Sound's suggestion or else Tome of Magic: Shadow Magic section.

Yes, there is a feat that gives you blindsence. Just can't remember where it is. Have to go through my bookshelves as I get home.

dm said game would probly last to level 30 maybe a little higher. race doesnt really matter to me as long as it looks cool. but i dont want to take a huge hit on level adjustments. also shadowdancers can shadow jump starting at 4th level but everything i keep hearing about them is that they suck.
