Need help picking out a Magic Item

I am playing a Lvl 3 Soul Knife atm. I need to pick a Magic Item (or items) with my current cash (2100 GP). Pretty much anything is available. I can pick a magic item from any 3.5 WotC book.

My current AC is 20 (10 + 4 Armor + 2 Shield + 4 Dex)

I am currently wearing a Chain Shirt and Heavy Steel Shield.

I plan to take the Spring Attack feat (right now I have Psionic Weapon and Dodge).

I am thinking of either something to up my AC even more (maybe a Ring of Protection +1 or Mithral Shirt).

I was also interested in some items from the MiniHB. The ones I liked were Belt of One Mighty Blow, Bracers of Quick Strike, Cloak of Elemental Protection and Gloves of Fortunate Striking. Just not sure I want to spend 1k - 1.5k on a magic item I can only use once a day.

I am more of a defensive, get out of harms way, kind of player. I usually prefer defense over offense.

So anyway, if anyone can give me a good suggestion as to what Magic Item (or items) might help compliment my character, I'd be much appreciated.

In 3.5 Expanded Psionic HB it is now a base class...

Hmm... let's see...

You can't go wrong with a Cloak of Resistance (1,000 gp), as that'll always help you out, or, depending on how much stuff you carry, a Heward's Handy Haversack (2,000- great deal due to the ability to draw anything from it as a free action). Also, an item that grants use of a 0-level spell at will (such as the Hand of the Mage) would definitely be useful, especially considering they usually cost 900 gp. Also, you could always go for an item that gives you a +5 to a skill, which would be 2,500 gp.

I think at this point I am just going to get the Bracers of Quick Strike. Not bad for 1,200 GP.

FYI - The Bracers allow you to... Once per day, as part of a Full-Attack Action, use a swift action to get an extra attack (at your highest BAB).
