Need Help With Pricing Magic Item

I have made a magic item for a player of mine but i need help with the cost associated with it.

Its a saddle that bestows a +4 bonus to ride checks and lets the rider cast 'Speak with Animals' once per day but only on the horse that he is riding. The spell is command word activated.

A guess off of the top of my head would be 1,500 to 2,000. I will look more closely when I get home from work and have my books if it is not answered better by then. Most skill items are +10 and 2,000gp and a once per day limited use spell isn't worth the full spell.

2,000 sounds good to me. Remember that a masterwork saddle could grant a +2 circumstance bonus to ride checks (I think -- most masterwork equipment grants such a bonus). Andt he ability to speak with the horse once/day would be priced pretty cheaply, I think.
