Need Ideas on PrC for a Sorcerer

First Post
Okay guys here is the deal. I am playing with a group running through the new 3.5 Ravenloft. One of the players is on her 3rd character and is looking at playing a sorcerer. Now the interesting part is she is looking at playing her sorcerer as a buffing type caster. Not so much on the direct offense like most would think but more on the make the party stronger type. Currently the character has the following info from what I have gathered:

Race: Elf
Level: 8th
Charisma: 20
Profession: Herbalist (Likes to the idea of making potions)

Any ideas on PrCs you guys might have for such a concept before we go live on this character would be appreciated.

I believe there is a PrC in Faerun that is all about creating awesome potions. I dont remember if it is worthwhile, but matches flavor.

A common prc that people like for sorcerer would be Wildmage or Bloodmagus. (Complete Arcane)

1/ She should take Draconic Heritage at 1st level; and

2/ She should take Draconic Aura (from Dragon Magic) at 3rd and 6th levels; then Double Draconic Aura at 12th level.

Buffing allies is all about her spell selection. If she's got haste, she's already doing good. She should also focus on battlefield control with spells like web and on de-buffing with spells like glitterdust. Those are similar in that they help the party without killing foes directly.

After rereading your post, she might want to consider Abjurant Champion. Being able to cast low level abjurations as a swift action on top of the bab/hit die is a nice combo.

Very cool, helpful character concept. The "buffing sorcerer" is a really good build imho.

If possible, she should know what stat boosting items the pcs have before choosing her spells. Stoneskin is a really good 4th level buff spell, but it costs diamond dust, so watch out. She might also consider taking a summon monster spell, preferably at a level with good versatility (especially if you can effectively get other spell-like abilities with it!).

War Weaver (buffer), Dracolexi (mini healing/status relief), and Divine Oracle (divinations, and keeps you alive longer) are all good choices.

Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil is fun for a defensive sorc, but it's a battlefield control thing, not a buffer class.

I vote for abjurant champion. As she is an elf, she can qualify the prerequisite just by taking Combat Casting, though she must wait till L 10 to get BAB +5.
