I'm running a campain set in France during world war 2. I want to spice things up a bit by including some lingo used during the time period in battle, but the problem is I don't know very much. (I know snafu and fubar, thats it.) So, if you know any, or know a good sight where there are plenty, please post.

I'd be interested in what other information you have already aquired for the setting as I'm planning a Vampire: Dark Ages game set during WW II.

Grabs his "Golden Age Campions" of his bookshelf.

FUMTU - Fouled Up More Than Usual

GI - Government Issue or General Infantry as in GI Joe. Term was ment to have come from Army trash cans and actually ment "Galvanized Iron".

"IFFy" - Identification, Friend or Foe. Device for indicating friendly allied aircraft on radar.

JANFU - Joint Army Navy Foul Up.

OHIO - Over the Hill in October, means going AWOL (Absent WithOut Leave)

TARFU - Things Are Really Fouled Up

The Big Three - FDR, Churchill and Stalin.

Brain Trust - FDR's advisors.

Big Four - US, Britian, USSR and China.

Brain Bucket - Your helmet.

Foo-Fighters - UFOs, called Flying saucers after about 1948.

Hope that helps some.

if you can find someone who was smart enough to tape "band of Brothers" that would be great for you. it was a really great HBO show. 10 parts (i think) each 1hr long, greatest thing i have ever seen on tv.
