Need Some Clarification on Sci Fi's Dr. Who

And Rowan Atkinson ("Mr. Bean," "BlackAdder") played the Doctor in a one-shot special called "Doctor Who and the Curse of the Fatal Death," I believe. (I've never seen it - is it as good as it sounds?)

It was a "Comic Relief" special, in which Rowan Atkinson, Richard E Grant and Joanna Lumley all played the Doctor (the latter two very briefly at the end of the episode... and there may have been others). Julia Sawalha played the Doctor's companion/fiancee, and Jonathan Pryce played the Master. The Daleks made their obligatory appearance.

It was played for laughs (including a "the Master has boobies" joke), and was truly awful.

There was also a Doctor Who/Eastenders crossover a few years before that, in which four of the then seven Doctors found themselves trapped in Albert Square and... something happened. (Tom Baker had a small cameo introducing the thing, but otherwise didn't take part, and the first and second doctors were cunningly written out. This was prior to the death of Jon Pertwee, and before the McGann movie.) That's about all I remember about it - I've managed to erase most of it from my memory.

When i think of the master, only one actor was any good and that was Roger Delgado, to me he is the only master.

There was another one in the Keeper of Traken pre-Tremas, and another in the TV movie. That would be five.

Hm- I've never heard of the Keeper of Traken one, but the US movie version was played by Eric Roberts (who, though I generally like as an actor, really missed the mark on the Master, and was way too over the top.)

Also, there was someone else who portrayed the Master in that movie, before he is killed, which would make six altogether.

Unless you count the cgi worm-like thing that possessed Eric Roberts' character and turned him into the Master (which would make seven). I guess that thing doesn't count, though, since it's really not an actor.

Delgado was definitely a great Master (probably the best), but I always liked Ainley's Master as well. Of course, Ainley's was the first Master I ever actually saw, so that might have something to do with it.

(Then again, I prefer Connery's Bond over Roger Moore's, despite having seen Moore's first, thus putting the lie to the theory that the first one you see if your favorite, at least in that case. )

I have liked a number of Doctors but don't think I can say if any were better than the others. I look back and realize they appealed to me because of my age and my interest, seeing some of the old ones back in the 80's I realized that they had great stories but I was too young to know that.

There was a South Park Episode where the towns people were trapped by a snowfall in the community center with Eric Roberts and after about 5 min decided that they would have to resort to canibalisim and thus Killed and ate Eric Roberts. I cheered out loud at this due to how much I hated what he did to the Master in that american Doctor Who movie.

You're thinking of The Valeyard. I thought it was the 13th regeneration, though.
