I do believe the OP wanted us/someone to present build ideas and maybe hinted towards a little power gamey.
Druid is strong
Cleric is always a nice/strong/survivable and welcome addition to any group
any spellcaster with good spell selection and feat choices is a strong viable pc
A new class, new to me anyways, was the Archivist, found in the heroes of Horror. This class can make a lore ck roll and add bonuses of +1 up to +3 to the entire party pending how much he makes his roll by. The class has a wide variety of spells, most divine but do to his ability to select from all domains has access to many arcane spells as well. Worth a look into...
5th Psion / 1st Elocater This build will be a 6th level manefester, you will no longer touch the ground 'scorn earth' get side step charge feat free, get 1 bonus feat at 1st level Psion and 1 more bonus feat at 5th level Psion. You can wear armor, nice! Its 1 spell(power) list so its simple and easyier to play, less time consuming. I suggest going telepath, lots of good powers to choose from, get the feat expanded knowledge and get the power called Astral Construct. AC is like monster summoning but you build/taylor fit your summoned/manefested construct to any encounter-very nice indeed! You will have excellent powers, be a great attribute to any party and the Elocater dip will save you any problems of being on the ground not to mention you have a limited levitation at will. With scorn earth you can levitate 10' per round, I think it is, forever -at will, used like a feather fall, or climbing etc.
You can find the Psion and the Elocater by searching google for srd 3.5 revised
