With Endurance, you might as well take Diehard.

He said Suboptimal, not Stupid.

Come to think of it, I guess Diehard is exactly useless for undead, and not just for its kill-me-because-I-won't-drop mechanic.

Also, Aquatic Spellcasting seems to be similar to Steam Magic, but perhaps better? I don't have the book in front of me, but I think AS not only ignores the water-air barrier but also allows fire spells under water.
