If you don't currently see anybody in your area in the Gamer Seeking Gamer area, you might want to list yourself as seeking a game and what type of game and/or start a thread here:

Gamers Seeking Gamers - EN World D&D / RPG News

You can also check for any meetup groups in your area at meetup.com. Sometimes there are local groups in your area where you can meet local gamers.

If that fails then you might want to check out a local gaming store for any public events they run or signs looking for gamers as well.

And if all of that doesn't lead you to a game in your area, you might want to consider finding a game played online via a virtual table top which allows you to play with gamers from all across the country and/or world.
