Marshal/Sorcerer. In Dragon Magic there's a class variant called Dragonscale Husk that replaces the heavy armour proficiency with an untyped AC bonus that you can cast in.

Gestalt? I'd go a LN, multiclassed wizard/monk and druid/monk, then as soon as possible become Arcane Hierophant/Monk.

It's a pity you're not going for L8, for then I'd recommend Rog 4 / Ftr 4 // Wiz 8. Nice and simple, no wierdness. And it's nicely rounded as to skills and feats.
