Needing a Feat

If your willing to use OGL sources, then there's swarm shape. Turn into your HD worth of Tiny normal critters (whatever Tiny normal creature you can Wildshape into, anyway).

Makes for a great escape or distraction. As long as one animal gets away, you live on...

Thanks, for the feedback.
I was toying with Explosive Spell and then Energy Substitution, but I'm sticking with my boycott of the 3.0 metamagic system and took the boring but useful feat Spell Penetration.

Cheers

True, but two feats when your Concentration is already at least +20? Not necessary.

Yeah, but neither is either of those feats necessary when you are at +20... :D

Besides. Once my Con gets to about 14 (including all bonuses, even from feats) I usually stop putting points into it...

It only allows small and medium dragons, though. I don't think there's anything to improve that, unless you house-rule otherwise. But that'd be a different forum, again.

Its mainly for flexibility. You want to be immune to energy drain, have +19 natural armour with a nasty breath weapon then become a shadow dragon. Or for the alternate form ability 3 times a day become a gold dragon. Copper dragons get a slow breath weapon. Pyroclastic dragons get disintegrate and rust dragons get rusting bite. Also between them all they probably have every immunity in the book.

Well, unless your DM readies actions to attack you when you cast, making nasty Concentration DCs. :\

In those cases, you want as much Concentration as you can get (and plusses to casting defensively doesn't help there).

I thought that feat only let you turn into True Dragons. I dont' think a shadow dragon is a True Dragon, but I'm not sure.

Well, often Druids don't really care about alternate form abilities. They can just Wild Shape again. The slow breath weapon is nice, but the DCs of those abilities are pretty low for the levels you get them at.

Probably not sonic. :p Even so, are you sure you can turn into those? I'll check up on that later.
