The Pech. I've liked these guys since their first appearance in S4 - Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth. They seem like a "deep" underdark race. That is, the Drow and Svirfneblin and a number of others seem like they'd live fairly close to the surface (relatively speaking). The Pech seem like they'd be even deeper. Mysterious, almost alien.

Rom? As in, gypsies? I don't get this one.

I probably should have described Rom better, since they are extremely obscure.

Rom are an extremely rare race of undead deep giants, with skin coloration similar to drow and duergar.

I've seen them once or twice in old D&D publications...one was a Dungeon adventure. I can't remember what the other reference was.

I added them because I simply thought they were a cool concept and have used them in my campaigns at various times. I also wondered if anyone out there still remembered them.

Guess I answered that question

i'm with Yuan-Ti on this one -- i'm not a fan of the Underdark at all.

I think the "Rom" he's referring to is a race of cave-dwelling undead giants from the old Al-Qadim setting, correct?

BAM!! That's where I read it before! Thanks :D

Trogs are one of my favorite Underdark races.

I read that when lizards are contesting anything they usually do something that looks like a push-up, to human eyes, in front of their foes. I had the unarmed berserker trogs do this when I ran them in my campaign. It was confusing to the players and after they got done with the first battle the characters all agreed that any trogs doing pushups had to be the first ones killed.

The party did eventually learn they could retreat while the pushups were being done and used it to their advantage a couple of times. It was most entertaining.

Drow; how many times do you see them, in the underdark, during they're normal life. Is there a book, that is non novel and non campaign about them?

Deep under the ground. Hmmm.... Where're all the worms and insects? Maybe a molepeople. A molepeople riding giant worms and giant insects.... Nahh

What about a Deep Goblins? That would be cool.

To be honest. I usually stick to the core races :)

So I didn't vote but would have voted for "none" :p

I voted for "other" - I always thought that the aboleth got the short end of the stick, and I alwaus though that the svirfneblin were pretty cool

I can't believe I forgot to put Aboleth on the poll.

D'oh!! I guess that's the short end of the stick.
