Sure, because the math shows that a character with weapon expertise does twice as much damage per round as a character with weapon focus. Or something like that.

I wish I had the time I used to have to create my own adventures, unfortunately, as a professional with two young kids at home and one on the way my D&D prep time is far more limited than it was before. If I didn't run premade adventures I wouldn't be running anything.

Reading a premade adventure takes more time than I spend prepping my own adventures.

I do both, and I have to say the prep time is more for my own stuff, but not by much. 4E has seriously helped prep time.

Also bare in mind that the BIG reason the Irontooth encounter led to TPKs was that the DM could easily make the mistake of combining the outdoor and indoor encounters. A DM who was new to 4e, and who rationalized the kobolds retreating, would lead to two encounters worth of monsters, and PCs not able to handle it. Irontooth by himself isn't that deadly.
