New 3E World...from scratch....

As for a name for the world.

It should reflect the fact that it is a world created by a collective of people. The most appropriate thing I can think of is a gem stone with many facets, or a prism.

How about Spectran
or Mosaical

Or Argent's place....

On that note... I would like to work on the various religions of the world. I'm a folklorist and have studied religion and Mythology for some time.

BTW... Which story hour? Wizardru's or Avonshar?

Avonshar

I feel each colony will have it's own religious history, and the beliefs of different colonies may conflict (so they may not be consistant), but would be happy to share with you "My gods" (not that i'm planning anything too unusuall).

The spirits are not interested in anything but what they are. It is the will of the Cleric that manifests the abilities.

Are you sugesting that "all" gods available in this world are like this, or that there are spirits of this world who get elevated to godhood by the beleif of colonists (i.e. new gods)

With the lack of gods and the spirits so uncareing. there would be a need for the populace to look within for strength. Psionics would be very prevelant because of this. Magery would only be "common" among the magicaly inclined races. (Elves and Gnomes) and their teachings would be kept secret as much as possible. (just think of the advantage they would have over the other races!) Thus Sorcerers would be the first magicians and Wizards coming after once a few sorcerers learn that some people can learn what they do naturaly.

This is entirely possible, but it defines "the colonials", not "the world", If someone decided to create a magical and generous race of dwarves as a colony that is their choice.

I'd been thinking of doing something like this colonist idea as a way of putting my Roman/Byzantine-like Tarantine Empire on another world spreading the glories of Orus. Strange how peopel seperately come up with similar ideas.
