From the article it seems that

Elves +2 Dex, +2 Wis (as we know)

Eladrin +2 Dex, +2 Int

Drow +2 Dex, +2 Cha (from the comments about their "presence")

Hrmm perhaps Warlocks use CHA as their power stat?

Plane Sailing: Makes sense to me, but I had assumed that it was Half Elves that got the +2 Cha, because of the role they tend to be slotted into.

After a certain point, genetics give up and myth takes over.

Some orcs might worship Corellon too.

They said they were trying to make gods less connected to certain races.

Of course this now leads me to imagine the showdown between an Orc Paladin of Corellon versus an Elf Cleric of Gruumsh.

But that's a human thing. Humans have that whole free will corruptible thing going on... We have the power to be good, but also the choice to be horrible. Were it a human tale, I could completely understand and agree, however, since it's an elven thing; perhaps the will of the elven race isn't quite so open.

To me, this would lead to some cool roleplaying aspects... The elf that cannot quite understand why a human wouldn't serve the will of his god.

The way I see it, after reading the article, is that the elves, eladrin and drow share an instinctive connection with their deities. On the level of individual, the effect of this subtle influence is negligible... but on the level of clans and kingdoms, and across centuries, the desires and goals of the fey deities shape the history of their children.

Corellon is the God of Magic. So, it's possible that Gruumsh may be what, the God of War? God of Poking Things with Pointy Things?

Or an elf paladin of Gruumsh, for that matter.
