I'm missing the point of including arbitrary numbers to use in the creation of a PC.

Do you mean that if you include the numbers 1, 4, 6, 15, 43, and 7 than I have to use those numbers in a PC's background?

What's the point of that? (He had 4 brothers, 1 sister, he stole 15 GP, blah blah blah)
