New camera?

My friend is offering to sell me a digital camera, a 'DX7440 Kodak'.

The opening offer is £80 + £20 ($160 + $40) for a battery (I think, this was too long ago for my memory), which I can act on once he's finished his photography course. I was wondering if this was a good deal?

The DX7440 was first available in May 2004, so is getting a little long in the tooth (camera technology is advancing at quite a rate). The 2005 equivalent (Z730) with 5MP is £100 new on Amazon.

Nerf is right. You should be able to get something better for a similar ammount that's new.

If he drops it to £70-80 including the battery, it might be worth it though.
