Trying desperatly to stay out of the minivan universe myself.

We don't have kids, but do need the hauling capacity.

So, I'm gunning for a nice little Pick-up (since my abilty to parrell park anything bigger than a sedan may as well be the Queen Mary).

You swapping the engine?

Eh, probably not. It's a naturally aspirated engine, a VG30E to be precise. Robust as hell block of iron. Without a doubt she's getting intake/exhaust and an ECU reflashing, but if I come into some funds, she's gonna get a turbocharger.

But what to swap is the question? The DOHC heads on the VG30DETT motor from the Z32 are so tall you couldn't close the hood on a Z31, and an RB26DETT is just out of my price range, as is the current VQ35DE.

Minivans. Augh. Death to Chrysler for inventing them. I do like the bulge in the back of the Quest however. I've been a Nissan kid forever.

The Odyssey engine is also in the Honda Pilot. That's fairly common actually. And contrary to popular belief, a lot of SUV's are built on minivan platforms, not truck platforms.

Quest, Odyssey and Sienna was our short list. The Odyssey had a slight edge in features, but we liked the look and feel of the Quest better, hands down.

I think we can all agree that no model of minvan qualifies as a chick magnet.

I let my wife decide, since it's basically her car. She based it mostly on the reviews at Edmunds, and said that Edmunds had given the Sienna the best overall reviews, so that's the one we went with.

We especially like the laser cruise control, and the reverse camera display when backing up. We got the fully loaded XLE, which has the DVD and nav system.
