Considering that this is the same company that bases its livelihood on a card game, I'm a bit surprised they didn't spring for some fancier textures, to liven things up. Maybe offer the above as the standard version (and even better, have a low-ink version), but then also bust out an optional high-texture mode, with some stuff like these cards' borders:

I'd say keep the existing colors (green, red, black), and then have different textures based on power source (martial, arcane, divine, primal, psionic). It would be a nice subtle bit of flavor.

And yes, please let us toggle the powers' flavor text off. That's one part I don't need on my cards.

Ooh, and maybe later for yet more added functionality, let us edit the power names.

These cards don't have the power's source material on them (book, Dragon article, whatever). I liked having that.

I think there's a good chance that you can toggle the flavor text off, since the current Character Builder does it.

Also, the idea of a high-res/economy setting is a great one, though I doubt I'd ever use the high-res one seeing as I'm a stingy bastard when it comes to printer ink.

I'm glad the layout is conforms better to how the powers look in the books, but IMHO, I'd rather they used horizontal-wide power descriptions, in a manner similar to the Essentials books. I think it would be nice to save on paper if 10 "text-lite" powers can fit in the same space as 5 text-heavy powers, instead of assigning a whole 1/9 of a page to EVERY power.

Or all four: Keep the colors for usage (Green=At-Will, Red=Encounter, Black=Daily), and have source textures, and let us toggle flavor on/off, and let us edit power names.

Plus one more: let us edit the flavor text.
Example: Whereas Cutting Words says, "With the aid of your magic, your words become a weapon capable of luring a foe into a tactical blunder," an edited power card for the same power could bear the name "Weird Words," with flavor text saying, "You twist your words into an arcane skein that strains your foe's brain and lures it into a lane of pain."

I mean, we're supposed to be taking ownership of how we describe what our characters do, right? Being able to edit the flavor text (but not the rules text) would help.

One more style comment from me: in the upper right corner, next to the targeting icon, there is a curly dividing line between the usage color and the plain white behind the icon; on the At-Will powers, it is slanted like a forward slash "/" but on the Encounter power, it is slanted like a backslash "\". That makes it even easier to tell what the usage is when printing out in black-and-white. (But what do they do with the Dailies, I wonder?)

Looks like I'll be keeping with my current practice of "Build in the CB, then make an actual usable character sheet myself by hand".

If I have to plug in values for the variables for a power when I read it, that slows down play. Don't tell me "1d10+ Cha modifier (+4) damage". Just tell me the info I need at the table: "1d10+6". Yeah, it has to computed values at the top of the card. But why are they up there instead of in the power's text when it references those values?

I find it useful to have the text of the power card spell that stuff out. That way you can see where the numbers come from.

Cards seem a little on in the maths department.

Chaos Bolt says it Cha vs Will and that the Damage is 1d10+ Cha modifier.

The Cha modifier is listed as +4, the attack line at the top says

Staff Implement +4 vs., 1d10+6 damage

So it doesn't tell you what the attack is against and has added +2 from somewhere to the damage total.

Then Enscorcelled Blade doesn't even seem to have a calculated attack line at the top at all. So seems to lack a bit of functionality.

Whirlwind at least tells you what you are attacking but still has the +2 damage from some unknown location (I guess a feat perhaps?).

The +2 could be from the dragon magic class feature (add str bonus to damage rolls).

I'm assuming these are different options for displaying info on the card. Or possibly the character didn't have a dagger equiped so the power didn't have anything to auto calculate.
