New character creation/Game of death!

I told a friend about it. He really wants to submit a character, but he only got the link to this thread today. So, maybe. If not, he will probably still try to get in on the next deadline for the second-string gods.

The fact that there are no prizes after each competition has been stated in an earlier post, but what about other gains?

The two I can think of are items dropped by an opponent, either due to disarm or otherwise, and experance.

If one character is disarmed, and the other character picks up the weapon and kills them with it, would they get to keep the weapon after?

Or, after the first two battles or so, would there be any chance of a level? The normal encounter levels and such for experance don't apply here because it is only one character, who is facing an opponent who is, by the numbers at least, their equal in every way.

I already said no looting, but I was thinking of after the death, I'll think about that.

as far as new levels, my first inkling is to say no, just because if you gained a lvl, it would require new character sheet, but that's your work.

How about we vote on that one. would you like xp, and therefore levels possibly awarded?

no - 12th level is a nice level to explore in your GoD - we've already had GoD's that near 15th level.
Plus, creating characters for GoD's kills me - I wouldn't enjoy modifying the character with levelups... too much time.

If anything, there should be a low-to-mid-range title purse that's gained - at least the winners could then perhaps afford to replace their consumed resources, maybe make some money, but not enough to tip too many scales in their favor.

Also, if the purse is big enough, than you wouldn't have to win every battle to let you get enough to restock your items.

Maybe CR*1000 = 12,000 GP per fight?
Is that too much? maybe so...

Well, if I can earn gold (or equivalent) with successful matches, I might have to tweak my character just a little. Of course, if I am selected at all.

sollir, I got your character sheet, you are going to recieve a blanket -5 on all rolls though, becuase it gave me such a headache... ;)

but I need to know at least what god it's for, and the complete write up ASAP.

I need 2 things before I post the results.

1. Sollir, I need your diety

2. I got a character a while ago for Decius of Athens, for Apollo, I don't know who sent this, and you haven't replied to my emails, if you are still out there, and want to play, get in contact with me.

3. we need more players, still tons of good god's left, so if you know anyone that might be interested, bring them over.

I'm still working on my Forger of Heaphestus - boy, they really did take out a lot of cheesy stuff in 3.5, didn;t they? This is gonna be hard.

Questions coming your way, CHL.

So you'll want to take lots of ranks in Forgery, right? :D
