I stumbled on to this class variant of the Psion completly by accident. I looked on line and it would seem this class is the same as a Psion. Obviously there must exist some differences, what are they?

Also what is a factotum and what is its abilites?

thanks guys

I've never used Erudite before, but from reading the description it has a different method of using powers. It has a column called Unique Powers Per Day, this is its big thing. What happens is an Erudite can manifest any Psion power, except the total number of different powers manifested in one day cannot exceed this number. For instance, at level 2 the number of unique powers possible is 2, this means that in one day you can manifest any 1st level power twice, but once you have manifested two different powers, you can only remanifest those two. You do not have to make the choice that locks you into something before you actually manifest.

I hope this helps.

Factotum can do a little of everything, but I don't know too much about it, so I'll leave this to someone else.

and for this sacrifice they gain, what? what makes them called unique powers?

Unique is used to mean different. An Erudite gains more powers known than a Psion, since he can learn them from Power Crystals (psionic Scrolls) or from other psionic characters (think of a Wizard assing spells to his spellbook). In exchange for this much larger powers known list, the Erudite loses flexibility in another area. The difference is that when he manifests his first power, it means he can only manifest that power plus any other that day.

For example: Bob the level 2 Erudite knows the powers A, B, and C. He can manifest 2 unique powers per day.

On day 1 he manifests power A on his first encounter, then power C on his second encounter. At his third encounter, he can only manifest powers A and C with his remaining PP.

On day 2 he manifests only power B for his first two encounters. By the third encounter he can use his remaining PP to manifest power B again and then power A, or C.

There is no limit to the total number of powers you can manifest (other than PP) but you cannot manifest too many different powers (as dictated by the unique powers column).

Sorry for the ambiguity in the first post.
